Explore the Flavors of the World

Very common in Turkish/Lebanese and other Middle Eastern cuisines, Sumac is a key ingredient for much of the spices in the region including Za’atar. It’s a sour, citrusy spice that is packed full of flavor. Its main purpose in cooking is to add acidity to the dish but must be balanced well or it can overpower other flavors. Our Sumac is grown in the hills of Southern Turkey and it looks like a pyramid of red berries when fresh!
