Kashmir Mawal Powder is made out of crushed Cockscomb flower powder. Cockscomb is a flower that is used in a variety of cuisines and goes great with Lamb, poultry, Fish, Beef and soups. It is also great for garnishing over salads. It adds a deep red/burgundy hue to dishes when steeped in water.

 

The most famous Kashmiri dish, Rogan Josh, is incomplete without Mawal or Cockscomb Powder. Organic Kashmir Mawal's taste and texture are very similar to basil leaf or spinach. Also, its rich red colour is a great natural food colouring agent.
