The Assam pepper is a subspecies of long pepper and is hand picked in the wilds of North East India especially the region of Meghalaya. The Assam pepper has a unique shape reminiscent of blackberries. The spiciness of this wild pepper is much more subtle than the long pepper and needs a little bit to develop which the gives a intense numbing sensation.
